About Us

A Family Legacy of Craftsmanship

Woodsmiths Custom Millwork began in 1981 in the basement of the Smith family home. Founded by brothers Tim, Tom, and Sean along with their mother Mary, the business quickly became known for quality architectural millwork across Southwest Michigan. Brother Ken later joined, helping grow the company into a trusted name for both residential and commercial projects.

Today, Ken and his son Parnell continue that legacy—delivering skilled workmanship, clear communication, and lasting results.

Serving Homes, Businesses & Historic Spaces

While our roots are in interior architectural millwork, we now serve homeowners, designers, and builders with a full range of custom cabinetry, pre-hung doors, trim, stair parts, barn doors, and more.

You’ll find our work in hospitals, universities, courthouses, restaurants, banks, and well-known facilities like Stryker, Pfizer, and The Kellogg Foundation.

We’re also proud to support Kalamazoo’s historic neighborhoods through detailed millwork restorations for local landmarks including St. Augustine Cathedral and the Rickman House.

Our showroom and warehouse showcase a broad range of cabinetry, doors, and more—supported by a team of experienced sales reps and designers who are here to help you find the right fit for your vision, budget, and timeline.

Built to Last. Backed by Family.

For over 40 years, our business has been shaped by a belief in quality, service, and strong relationships. Whether you’re restoring a historic home or managing a large-scale build, we’re here to help bring your vision to life—with craftsmanship you can count on.
